Goodbye winter!
So, I hear it’s the last of the cold weather, and spring is all over the place! The grass is green (except in my fields, where the horses eat it all), the flowers are blooming, the trees are budding out and the flowering trees are all in their glory! I love spring! Spring is the best season because there’s so much warm weather to look forward to. It seems like I’ve already forgotten how horrible winter is, how the water tank freezes over a foot thick, or how the barn door freezes shut and I have to leave it open just a foot so I can squeeze in. But it’s warm now! Hooray!
I never did post my winter pictures from the ice strom, so I’ll do that first, and then I’ll post my first of the spring pictures.
I liked seeing all the ice and snow from the house, despite my hatred of wintertime. I really wanted to get in the woods and see the unspoilt wonderland. I saddled up little Omie, my precious favorite little pony, one of the kentucky mountain horses for anybody who doesn’t know, and we took off. There were all sorts of trees down on the trail, so we had to pick our way through carefully, with me leading a lot of the time. Some of the meadows along the creek had turned into big slippery ice slabs, it was a challenge. There were a million little rabbit tracks and deer tracks. It was like heaven.
GOODBYE WINTER!!!!!!
HELLO SPRING!!!!!
the pear blossoms have been a favorite subject of mine, and they’re so willing!
